Blue Ridge Dietetic Association

The Virginia Dietetic Association serves as the leading advocate of the dietetic profession in Virginia, serving the public through promotion of optimal nutrition, health, and well-being. Our membership includes Registered Dietitians, Registered Dietetic Technicians, students, and retirees of the profession.

We are chartered by the American Dietetic Association, committed to serving the public in the state of Virginia, while supporting activities at the national and international level. The Blue Ridge Dietetic Association is one of the five state affiliates of the Virginia Dietetic Association. BRDA covers the areas from Winchester to Danville and the Northern Shenandoah Valley to Charlottesville.

RD's within the BRDA are active serving on local advisory boards and tasks forces like the Childhood Obesity Task Force, providing individual consults, working with the media, leading grocery store tours, holding food drives and partnering with area schools.

This Web site has been developed to provide a means for disseminating current practical and reliable nutrition expertise based on scientific information, both to the public and our professional members within the Blue Ridge district.
